HEART DIARY
it’s not about a search (remarkable story)
Be kind to yourself –
It’s a Sign of Love
It’s been more than a couple weeks since I started my ‘Look for Signs of Love’ adventure.
Some days I find myself ‘searching’, as if signs of Love are hard to find and there’s only a certain finite amount. I wonder if this is an unconscious reflection of how I view other important aspects in my life?
This project is just about a noticing – a look, not a frantic search of Love and hoping I’ll find some totally out-of-this-world sign of Love to experience and write about. It’s about an open heart and eyes that see differently, a new mind that focuses on what is loving and a remembering -Love is.
Parking my car, rummaging through my purse to find the little coin pouch and cell phone so that I could leave my heavy bag behind while at Saturday market, I paused for a moment and questioned whether to bring my cell. I quickly decided to leave it behind.
Oh, how I LOVE Saturday market in Eugene – my heart comes alive there. The produce is lush and beautiful, the colors vibrant and people are everywhere smack in the middle, soaking in the life- force of the amazing abundant veggies and berries. I simply rejoice.
Walking down the stairs of the parking garage, I’d finished my first flight and then started to doubt myself leaving my phone behind. What if I found a ‘sign of Love’ and didn’t have my phone to capture the moment, what if someone needs me, or one of my kids called, what if the guys fishing wanted me for something ..etc.!?
I took a deep breath and here’s what I realized.
I had just given myself the biggest ‘sign of Love’ ever by leaving my phone in the car!
I let go of anyone needing, wanting me for any reason and even if I spotted a sign of Love and didn’t have the means to take a picture to show you, I’d trust my heart to convey it perfectly.
I spotted a sign of Love though, and I have the picture for you.
It’s a previous photo from Saturday market a couple years ago. That’s my pretend granddaughter!

** feeling really disconnected, my heart heavy and everything seemed impossible, I decided to take a bike ride to maybe feel better. I stopped for a moment in the grassy park and looked up in time to see these heart clouds drift by. Instantly, I felt connected. My energy lifted, I knew I was seen, heard and loved, and everything was going to be okay. – Theresa Gooch (www.lookforsignsoflove.com)

**”This heart stone was embedded in a goldmine (1000 feet down) in Cripple Creek, Colorado.
Most men who worked here rarely saw the light of day and died around 30-40, their sons often started working in this mine as young as 12 years old. Many young men and boys left their hearts in this place.”-by Carol Thompson

“I lifted my son into my arms and walked across the road towards the shopping centre. As I lifted my leg to step up on the footpath, my son twisted to point at something. “Look Mum! A love heart!” (quoted from Kelly’s website)

sweethearts still (remarkable story)
Written on the tree, in Love.
My former sweetheart was visiting from LA. As we walked around Owen’s Rose Garden in the late summer 2013 sunshine, we reminisced about our life together, which had begun in the 1970’s and lasted through the 1990’s. During those years, we had raised our daughter, worked at our professions, and traveled for adventure. Our life paths permanently diverged in 2001, but our love for our family remained.
Now we walked hand in hand in the garden, chatting and laughing. Our shadows suddenly fell onto a tree trunk, flanking a spot on the bark where natural discoloration formed a heart.
Oh look – a message from the tree goddess! “Yes,” pronounced the tree, “Sweethearts still.”
