When you see a butterfly – remember
Look for Signs of Love – it is the sweet nectar of life
“Tell me, sir, What is a butterfly?”
It is what you are to become.
It flies with beautiful wings and joins the earth to heaven. It drinks only nectar from the flowers and carries seeds of love from one flower to another.” (Hope for the Flowers by Trina Paulus)
It’s my favorite quote. Tucked away and forgotten. I had written this on a piece of madrone bark as a bookmark to remind me of a Love transformation that is unfolding as you, as me – as all of us.
The wings that gently unfurl inside us as we bit by bit love all of who we are. As we recognize divinity inside and outside us – the earth to heaven merging inside us first.
And then we fly. Then we fly with beautiful wings joining earth to heaven no matter where we are.
And can you imagine drinking only the sweetness of life? – drinking in the happy thoughts, pouring the glass of goodness and love to ourselves and drinking deeply.
Savoring the kiss of life as we wake each morning. Listening to a song bird or just the golden silence of gratitude – consciously breathing, consciously being connected to all that is.
Can we drink only the nectar of those we are with (in thought or walking beside us) by choosing the sweetest – their best part that we focus on? And as we drink only nectar, we draw out their sweetness, their beauty, their divinity.
And so then we carry seeds of Love from one flower to the other.
We carry a Love seed that has inside it the whole meaning of life, the breath of life, the joy of life – and as we silently glide through the Universe – we softly drop the seed of Love for every heart we touch.
This is Love, this is you – thank you.

** this was a large rock in our forest path while hiking with a dear friend in Oregon. From her angle it didn’t look like a heart…so she walked right on by. Sometimes it’s where we stand that we see the heart in things – and then it helps us love anyway.

** This is a photo of a heart pool at the bottom of the enormous and awesome Multnomah Falls in Oregon. Todd DeBurlo (www.nowhand.com) from Burlington, Vermont had rendezvoused on a hiking trip at the Colombia Gorge with a friend he had met 4 years ago. This heart symbolized to him their relationship as one where they are together to learn from each other things important to their spiritual growth.

** my text read…. ‘ I just broke down in The Dalles’. It was a surprise visit from our son, on his way from Idaho – and The Dalles is 3 hours from us, so off we went to meet him there. He and his dad were working on his car as I was sitting on the curb with our sweet little dog waiting.
I had just been thinking happy thoughts of success for them and looked down at my feet and there was this heart shaped cinder rock…I just had to smile. I knew everything was going to be fine. Then, as I got up (because the car was fixed!) I spotted a penny and then another a few feet away – money of any size I find always feels so symbolic of abundance, and a reminder to be grateful. And, here’s what Doreen Virtue says about number 2 (since I found 2 pennies)….”Everything’s fine and will continue to be so…”:

** these 3 coral heart rocks were just a fraction of all the heart corals I found around the house where we stayed on a Hawaiian vacation.
It was truly magical finding so many ‘signs of love’ on that trip, from the coral hearts to people we met, experiences we had and the closeness my husband and I felt together.
There is always so much love around us – even a beautiful smile is love expressing beauty.

**a heart shaped meadow on the side of Mt. Thielsen (Oregon) rose up to greet Deonne Wright (www.deonnesaromablends.com) one day as she was traveling past. She’s traveled this road many times and only this time did she notice this wonderful Sign of Love!
