Look for Signs of Love.

This mud puddle heart is at a trailhead parking lot at Antelope Island, Utah where I was camping with one of my dearest friends during a 3 year sojourn around North America and the world after finally selling my house in Michigan.

We were elated to discover this heart at the conclusion of our hike; we celebrated by jumping around and taking several pictures.

Utah was as alien a place in North America I could\’ve imagined from my urban home in the industrial midwest.   Antelope Island was one of my favorite stops.  Bison, antelope and bird watching captivated me.  Clouds of gnats blanketed the air and feasted on my poor skin.

Upon emerging from the tent in the morning, animals and textures greeted me as I played a modern day middle aged Laura Ingalls Wilder.  The beauty and harshness of the landscape stripped me of  pretensions and illuminated my soul.
